What is the difference between a Strive footbed and a typical footbed?

Our Strive footbed has a unique contoured-shape offering optimum support to the heel and arch. Many ordinary insoles are flat and provide only cushioning to the foot that doesn’t relieve pressure points.

How is Strive different from other brands?

Strive is owned by the largest custom foot orthotic manufacturing lab in Western Europe. Our Biomechanical knowledge and experience has been used in their design since 1980. Many of our products are recommended world-wide by leading podiatrists and healthcare professionals. Only Strive has unique orthotic technology built into every single pair of its footwear designs.

Who can benefit from wearing Strive with built-in orthotic technology and why?

Any person with a foot problem or just looking for healthy feet can benefit from wearing orthotics. It is estimated that over 70% of the population suffer from rolling inwards of the foot and fallen arches (excess pronation), which is the major contributing factor to foot problems and this issue significantly worsens as we get older. The muscles and ligaments in the foot become weaker and the fatty padding under the foot thins out, which means less cushioning for the bones, in particular, the heel bone. Fallen arches, thinning fat tissue and heel spurs are the most common foot complaints for those over 50.

It is also very important for people who are on their feet all day. Unforgiving hard surfaces like concrete take their toll after long periods of standing even for younger people or those without foot issues! Most common complaints are fatigued, aching feet and legs as well as lower back pain. Pregnant and overweight people have excess weight that worsens the effects of excess pronation and its related pains. Proper alignment and support are crucial for those carrying additional weight, which creates additional forces on the feet, ankles, knees and back.

What exactly is a foot orthotic?

A foot 'orthotic' is designed to help restore your natural foot function. Poor foot function can trigger numerous biomechanical conditions such as heel pain, knee pain and low back pain. Orthoses help to realign the foot and ankle bones to their neutral position, thus allowing you to reclaim your natural footprint. This in turn can help alleviate problems in other parts of the body. In addition, orthoses give a more even weight and pressure distribution and can help with shock absorption.
